No matter you have or not big space for gardening, the matter is that you have how related with greenery? If greenery touches your heart and you feel affection with the, you will wish to increase it. Rainy season is the season when a carpet of greenery is spread on the earth. Tender green grass sprouts on the hard surface of the earth. This scene is very pleasing to our eyes. Then why don't we make greenery our companion this rainy season? Remember that greenery gives us both health and wealth. So let's make greenery our own.
Summer season
After dusty drought and heat
Rain feels good,
That green color looks good,
Who wipes away the dust and
Takes its place,
And tender green grass sprouts.
By the grass we can touch
With our eyes
To every color,
This symbolizes of continuous flow of life.
Only greenery enhances the life of nature.
This poetry I was written in last rainy season, when I caught the lots of greenery by my sight. In those days I was deeply depressed by my personal reason. During the heavy rain I was jailed in my own room. That was terribly detaching me from normal condition. When the rain was slow down, I went out of my room and then go out from my house. As soon as I came out of the house, it was as if someone had cast a spell on me. I looked mesmerized at the greenery that was spread far and wide. There were green leaves on the trees, green grass on the ground and a thin layer of greenery was visible on an old wall. Suddenly my mind became calm. It felt as if someone had made my inner sadness disappear with a magic wand. The cool greenery was very pleasant. Right then I realized that life is not what I was experiencing being confined in the room and getting depressed, the real life is what is in front of my eyes in the form of greenery. Just at the same time, forgetting my sorrow, I got filled with enthusiasm and started walking towards my plant pots with a tiny shovel. I had not taken care of those plants for several weeks. That day I spent about two hours with my plants and I found myself full of new energy.
There is a saying that good scenery calms the mind. There can be no better scenery than greenery. But nowadays, living in apartments and houses without courtyards, it has become difficult to have greenery near us. A park is made in big colonies of big cities, but there is lack of park in small colonies of small cities. Then, where there is private residence without planning, there is no space left for greenery. In such a situation, how can we find greenery around us? It's very simple. For this it is most important to understand the importance of greenery for yourself. It is important to know how much greenery benefits us personally. It is human nature that we get attracted towards the things which are beneficial for us and want to have them. According to scientists, nature and greenery have a restorative and healing tendency, leading to happier moods and reduced risk of depression, lesser stress levels, and increased cognitive function. It is boost up our better emotions. It is naturally that when we have in good mood, we do better and something new.
Greenery gives us healthy and pure breath. A healthy tree releases about 230 liters of oxygen every day, which provides oxygen to seven people. Peepal or Ficus religiosa is the most oxygen giving tree. Not many people know that the Areca Palm is a very important indoor ornamental plant. Besides it being a wonderful humidifier, the areca palm also produces more oxygen than other indoor plants. The areca palm is known for its ability to purify the air while removing harmful substances from the environment. Apart from this Money Plant, Snake Plant, Spider Plant. Gerbera Daisy, Bamboo etc are also more oxygen generating plants. Oxygen is also available by the balcony plants.
In our busy life, we are rarely able to go for outings, due to which we are not able to enjoy the greenery from close quarters. Whereas greenery is a constantly changing scene. That is, the leaves which we see on trees or plants today, their color may have changed a bit yesterday. Some yellow leaves have fallen and some new leaves have grown. Similarly, there is continuous change in flowers too. First a small bud, then the bud develops and then the bud becomes a flower, the flower blossoms and then gradually it turns into a fruit. This whole process gives us an interview with the life cycle and teaches us the nuances of living. Due to which we get the courage to face many calamities and difficulties. But the thing is that we do not take the time to go close to nature, learn from it and appreciate it. That's why, if we want, we can bring nature closer to us by planting some plants in pots in our small terrace or small balcony. If we do not have a balcony or terrace then there is nothing to worry about. Window gardening is trending these days. By going to any nursery, you can get window pots and window plants after taking advice from the gardener there. Some of the more creative people also grow onions, coriander, mint, fennel, lettuce, etc. in window gardening. In this way, they also enjoy the kitchen garden from their window garden. While such works give happiness and energy on one hand, they bring nature closer to you. This rainy season, you can choose your gardening space according to the space available in your home and have greenery at home which can be admired by sitting on a swing or a lounger.
Rainy season is the season of greenery in true sense, so whether it is outdoor or indoor, bring greenery with you and make it your companion. Then see that apart from giving you healing in physical and mental health, it will also make you environment and climate friend.
